Tevis Metcalf is ready to make the first cut to his recruitment by releasing a top schools list.
Metcalf is one of the top pure cornerback prospects in the country, and he holds offers from multiple Power 5 programs.
The Alabama product recently expressed his top schools list was coming soon as he continues to try to sort out his recruitment and decision timeline.
“I kind of want to be committed by some time in June,” Metcalf told Touchdown Alabama. “I am thinking sometime in June, not too far from when transport portal opens up.”
A few schools have worked themselves into a position to get an official visit from the junior, possibly before he announces a decision.
“I am probably taking an official to Arkansas, I know for sure,” Metcalf said. “Then probably Colorado.”
An official visit to Auburn is also something Metcalf is considering.
Arkansas recently hosted him, which gave him and opportunity to watch the Razorbacks’ staff in action and also catch up with his older brother, TJ Metcalf, who is a defensive back for Arkansas.
“It was good seeing the new coaches in action because when I got there at first, they had just got there, and I did not get to really see them coach,” said Metcalf. “I kind of know Coach Woodson already, kind of like a family friend. So it was good seeing him. T Will, he was happy to see me for the first time, and I really like their philosophy.”
Colarado’s linebacker coach Andre Hart is helping Colorado recruit Metcalf by staying in ‘pretty good contact’ with him.”
At 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, Metcalf was a shutdown corner during the 2022 football season. His ability to turn and run with receivers while consistently getting his head around to play the football was on full display. The 2024 recruit is also one of the most technically-sound defensive back prospects in the country, which could be credited to his incredible work ethic.

Louisville is another program that has shown a recent interest in Metcalf. A visit there is possible, but it all depends on his schedule.
