Kennesaw State getting OL with pro potential in Kaleb May

Kaleb May at Winning Edge
in-state gem headed to Kennesaw State

McAdory High School’s senior offensive lineman, Kaleb May might not have had the hype other high-profile recruits had surrounding them, but his upside remains high ahead of his enrollment at Kennesaw State.

May will not be found on any major recruiting site because he was not given a profile or was rated, but the lack of acknowledgment in the past does not mean his future is not bright. In fact, it is extremely radiant to those who have watched his progression.

The late rising 2023 prospect collected eight offers before deciding to commit and sign with Kennesaw State.

The founder of WinningEdge OL/DL Training Terrence Swift started to work with May when he had no offers and has witnessed his growth as a prospect. Swift, who has worked with NFL players: Daron Payne, Darryl Williams Jr and countless of others, feels May has pro potential based on his athleticism, mobility and work ethic at 6-foot-4 and 270 pounds.

“Kaleb is a great kid with great character, who loves to have fun, but he likes to compete at a high level,” Swift told Touchdown Alabama. “He is very athletic, got good length. He got a high ceiling, so he is going to be very good at the next level. I think the team he is going to is getting a diamond in the rough.”

Swift knows May is far from a finished product. However, the veteran trainer feels he can reach his full potential by consistently improving on his weaknesses and capitalizing on his strengths.

“He got to work more on his bend and being consistent on his run block, understand how to fit and keeping that contact,” said Swift. “With pass protection, he is pretty good at that. That’s something that is definitely his strength. He is very athletic, can recover really well, so that’s his asset. He can recover when he does miss a block. His athletic ability allows him to recover well.”
