Tua Tagovailoa’s trainer outlines lower body workout for viral photo

He has been performing different mixed martial arts tactics to prevent head injuries, but Tua Tagovailoa’s body has transformed in the offseason.

In his desire to stay healthy for the Miami Dolphins, Tagovailoa’s upper and lower body has more definition to it.

A workout video and a photo surfaced on Twitter with Tagovailoa throwing to his wide receivers. Both forms of content went viral as people noticed the native Hawaiian having a bigger chest, bigger shoulders/arms, and a thicker lower body. Nick Hicks, the owner of Per4orm training facility in South Florida, outlined Tagovailoa’s lower body workout that caused the viral photo.

Hicks said Tagovailoa does “lower body hypertrophy on Mondays with squats and Nordics.”  He said the talented quarterback then performs “lower body power on Thursday with HexBar Deadlifts and RDLs.” Tagovailoa does other things to put his body in the best position to rebound from hits, but the weightlifting aspect was what Hicks shared with Touchdown Alabama Magazine.

Hopefully, all the training will lead to the former Alabama quarterback staying on the field and having an incredible season.
