Cam Newton continues feud with Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa: ‘It’s more Love Island drama than football’

Dolphins' QB Tua Tagovailoa (#1) comes off the field into the tunnel after Sunday's victory over Steelers

After responding to his comments from earlier in the week, Cam Newton had his own rebuttal for Tua Tagovailoa’s on First Take on Friday.

Newton originally criticized Tagovailoa’s game sealing interception against the Buffalo Bills stating that the former Alabama quarterback was making more money than the top players in the league at his position and needed to execute.

Tagovailoa responded to the former NFL MVP (and Auburn quarterback) turned media analyst by saying “it’s easier to be able to hold a clicker and talk bout it that way or talk about what someone else is doing wrong” to explain the difficulty of playing the position.

But took aim at Tagovailoa again during the show, stating that although not the main cause of all the distractions in Miami that he has contributed to a large portion of it.

“When I see the situation thats taken place in Miami it’s more Love Island drama than football,” Newton said. “And in large part I wouldn’t say it’s all on Tua, but it is a main ingreidient and I just know what he’s capable of. There was times we’ve seen Tua Tagovailoa and it was at a high level. You don’t make $53 million… by just being a random on the street.”

Newton would go on to lay out that although it’s easy to sit and point a clicker, it’s also just as easy to go 0-3 in the NFL.

Despite the verbal blows, Newton left a last message to Tagovailoa to cut things loose through the air with the weapons that he has in order to right the ship in south beach.

“Let it rip,” Newton said. “When ou have Jaylen Waddle, a Tyreek Hill and Mike McDaniel as your coach, you have all the assets and amenities. You have once shown that you’re capable. I don’t know what this is in Miami now.”
