Jontae Gilbert returned to visit Alabama football after earning an offer from the Crimson Tide last month from Nick Saban.
Gilbert is a four-star recruit out of Douglass High School in Atlanta, Georgia, and he is currently committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Alabama is beginning to look like a serious threat to the Buckeyes as the Tide were able to get him on campus twice in about the span of a month.
“It was great getting back up and getting to experience a game day,” Gilbert told Touchdown Alabama. “The defense looked great. I also got to talk with coach T-Rob.”
Saban informed Gilbert of his offer from the Tide last month in his office.
“I went to coach Saban’s office and had a great conversation with him,” said Gilbert. “It felt great to get offered by the head coach of Alabama. I love the program, and it is a great place to be.”
At 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds, Gilbert is a long defensive back, who plays a physical brand of football. Saban raved about his physicality and versatility when he offered him.
“He said he watched my film, and he loves my athleticism, my toughness, the way I can tackle and my ability to play safety and corner,” Gilbert told Touchdown Alabama.
