We can only wonder ‘what if’ when it comes to Trey Sanders’ career for Alabama football.

He arrived full of promise as a five-star running back from IMG Academy in 2019. Sanders had the confidence that he would become the first true freshman to win the Heisman Memorial Trophy. Injuries would not allow the native Floridian to be great as he suffered multiple medical mishaps. After being involved in a car accident in 2020 that required surgery, Sanders was not the same athlete he was in high school. He got a College Football Playoff National Championship ring and two Southeastern Conference Championship rings, but it became inevitable that he would have to transfer to continue his playing career.

Sanders is now at Texas Christian University with a fresh start.

He has an opportunity to capture what he did not get at Alabama. Brian Branch, a former Tide standout, believes Sanders’ college football comeback will be incredible. He feels that Sanders is getting set up for the success he has always wanted.

Tide fans would like to see Sanders surge as one of the best backs in the sport.
