John Thornton II announced he will continue his football career at the University of Alabama as a preferred walk-on.

Thornton is a product of Pacelli High School in Columbus, Georgia.
The 2023 recruit held offers from Lane College, McPherson College, Missouri S&T, Millsaps College and other college football programs. He finished last season with 104 Tackles, a blocked punt, three tackles for loss and a sack in 10 games
The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder was a thumper as a senior, who stopped ball carriers’ momentum upon contact.
