Alabama freshman Tony Mitchell to plead no contest to marijuana charge

Alabama football’s freshman defensive back, Tony Mitchell is expected to plead ‘no contest’ to a felony marijuana charge Wednesday in Florida, according to AL.com.

Mitchell will receive drug counseling and probation, according to his attorney.

Nick Saban said there was ‘nothing new’ concerning the former five-star at the Nick’s Kids Golf Tournament Tuesday. Saban revealed Mitchell was suspended from the team during spring practice.

Mitchell signed a National Letter of Intent to play football at the University of Alabama in December. He enrolled as an early enrollee in January.
