The 6-foot-2, 212-pounder displayed perfect form on his swing at the Old Overton Golf Club. He has not played golf in eight years, according to his dad (Dan), but Lonergan launched a drive down the course. As one of two quarterbacks signed in the 2023 class, Lonergan completed eight of 14 passes for 79 yards and a touchdown in the spring game. He took the Crimson offense on an 80-yard touchdown drive that finished on a 6-yard scoring toss to running back Justice Haynes. Coach Saban praised Lonergan for his poise running the offense. He served as a dual-threat quarterback for Brookwood, totaling 3,932 yards and 39 touchdowns in his junior season.

Lonergan is one of five quarterbacks competing for an opportunity to start for the Tide.
