Could having speed be important for an Alabama kicker?

Connor Talty, a three-star in the 2023 recruiting class, showed impressive wheels on a speed machine.

He was clocked at 22 miles per hour, displaying strong footwork and acceleration. As a Chicago (Ill.) native, Talty was the No. 2 kicker in the nation via Chris Sailer Kicking. He can also punt, but Talty could see his role on field goals and kickoffs. His speed could help if the Tide has another potential “Kick 6” situation, and Talty would have the legs to run down the opponent.
