Alabama’s second defensive player from the NCAA transfer portal for the recent signing class has arrived on campus.
Jaylen Key, a former safety at UAB, is ready to start summer training with the Crimson Tide. He posted photos and videos to his Instagram story upon arriving to the University of Alabama.
Key, a South Florida native, is competing against Malachi Moore, Kristian Story, Caleb Downs, Jake Pope, and Devonta Smith for an opportunity at safety. He has 44 games of experience, including a breakout season in 2022. Key posted 60 tackles, 4.5 for loss, and three interceptions — earning Honorable mention All-Conference USA honors.
Nick Saban wanted to have more experience in Alabama’s defensive secondary, and he has it with Key and Trey Amos.
