The “Godmother of Soul” respects Hurts for what he did for the Eagles in his third season as the starting quarterback.

The 24-year-old took the franchise to Super Bowl LVII and outplayed Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs. Philadelphia nearly came away with the Vince Lombardi Trophy; however, its defense could not stop Mahomes in a 35-38 loss to Kansas City.

Hurts gained several accolades in the offseason, including a $255 million contract extension. LaBelle chose to extend her gratitude towards Hurts with a special gift. The native Texan posted what he received to his Instagram.

He is young, but Hurts has an old soul in him. He enjoys listening to old-school music. It gets him in the right frame of mind to command the offense, make plays, and win football games. His eyes are on returning to the Super Bowl and winning a Vince Lombardi Trophy.
