4-Star DL Zion Williams ‘mind blown’ by Alabama offer

Zion Williams and Nick Saban

Zion Williams earned an Alabama offer when he visited Alabama football over the weekend.

Williams is a 2025 four-star recruit out of Lufkin High School in Lufkin, Texas. Alabama is the eighth college football program to offer Williams, joining Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Baylor, Texas Oklahoma State, UTSA and Texas Tech.

The Texas product was on campus for Alabama’s cookout recruiting event Saturday when he was notified of his offer.

“I arrived on the day of the cookout and after the scavenger hunt we did to explore the campus, I was told to wait in front of coach Saban’s office,” Williams said. “When we walked in, after talking about the sport, he let me know that I got the offer and my mind was blown. It is just wild to me that he took the time out of his day to shake my hand, look me in the eye and tell me I have a scholarship from Alabama.”

The vibe of the Alabama football program also stands out to Williams.

“The entire organization is the best thing I have been to so far, just the energy from the coaches and people, who actually go to the school is just amazing,” said Williams.

At 6-foot-4 and 300 pounds, Williams is a powerful and aggressive defensive lineman, who displays great strength. He also uses his hands really well.
