Ja'Michael Jones

Ja’Michael Jones returned to the University of Alabama to camp after earning an offer from the Crimson Tide in March.

Jones attends Pike Road High School in Alabama, and he is one of the nation’s top underclassmen running back prospects. He reports offers from Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and others. His latest visit to Alabama gave Jones an opportunity to work under Alabama’s running back coach Robert Gillespie.

“It was very good,” Jones told Touchdown Alabama. “I went to camp. It was a very good opportunity to get better and learn from coach Gillespie.”

Nick Saban caught up with Jones again on Saturday. Saban offered him when he visited a few months ago.

“It was great,” said Jones when asked about the time he spent with Saban. “He finally got to meet my parents.”

At 5-foot-11 and 192 pounds, Jones runs the football with patience and an explosive burst. He feels his ability to break tackles is among his biggest strengths of the moment, but he wants to get faster, more explosive and become a better route runner in the future.

The Alabama product wants to show he an make plays in multiple ways this season.

“I want to show that I can catch out the backfield,” Jones said.
