The National Football League has started its Top 100 Players list of 2023.
Several of the elite players in the league vote on this list, and a former Heisman Trophy winner starts it at No. 100.

DeVonta Smith, a University of Alabama alumnus, is coming off a season where helped the Philadelphia Eagles reach Super Bowl LVII in his second season. He caught 95 passes for 1,196 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Smith became the first player to record 200+ receiving yards (215) in a College Football Playoff National Championship Game and 100 yards in a Super Bowl matchup. The Louisiana native had nine catches for 100 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs. Smith, a former four-star in the Crimson Tide’s 2017 signing class, is an elite route runner with reliable hands. He made clutch plays in college and has brought it to the pros. Smith set a single-season school record for receiving yards (1,856) and touchdowns (23) in 2020 for Alabama, leading the program to a CFP National Championship. He caught the game-winning, 41-yard touchdown pass as a freshman from Tua Tagovailoa in a 26-23 victory in the 2018 CFP National Championship Game (2017 season) versus Georgia.

Smith won the Heisman Memorial Trophy in 2020 and became the Tide’s all-time career leader for receptions (235), receiving yards (3,965), and touchdowns (46). The Eagles took him at No. 10 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft.
