He was projected as a first-round value but fell to No. 45 overall. Branch turned in an outstanding junior season for the Crimson Tide, posting 90 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, three sacks, seven pass breakups, and two interceptions. He pushed the defense to 11 wins, including a 45-20 victory over Kansas State in the Allstate Sugar Bowl. The Lions have started training camp, and the former four-star is making impact plays. Branch recorded two pass breakups in Friday’s practice and Detroit shared via Twitter.
