Nick Saban is known for producing NFL talent from the University of Alabama, and the top 100 players list shows it.
The Crimson Tide has five alums voted on the list by their peers.
Jonathan Allen, a former Alabama defensive end, became the latest name Friday.
He comes in at No. 52 as one of the defensive captains for the Washington Commanders. The 6-foot-3, 300-pounder finished 2022 with 65 tackles. He finished second to his teammate, Da’Ron Payne, in sacks (7.5) and had 16 tackles for loss. Allen collected three pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and an interception. A former first-round selection in the 2017 NFL Draft, Allen’s production has increased each season. He has yet to have a double-digit sacks year, but Allen has 33.5 sacks for his career.

He came in Alabama’s 2013 signing class from Virginia.
Allen burst onto the scene for the Crimson Tide in 2014, totaling 32 tackles, 11 stops for loss, five sacks, seven quarterback hurries, a pass breakup, and a blocked field goal. He paced the Tide’s defense to a Southeastern Conference Championship and a College Football Playoff berth. Allen became unstoppable for Alabama’s defensive front in the next two years. He recorded 22.5 sacks combined for 2015 and 2016. Allen terrorized running backs and quarterbacks — racking up 30.5 tackles for loss, 21 quarterback hurries, six breakups, and two forced fumbles. He propelled the Tide to an SEC Championship and CFP National Championship in 2015. Allen got Alabama to another SEC title in 2016 and nearly won a second straight national championship.
Tide fans are excited to see what he does for the Commanders in the fall.
