Key Insight: “Alabama will set a physical tone in its opener with a balanced offensive attack under Tommy Rees. Jalen Milroe needs to be consistent with his athleticism, but more importantly, his accuracy must be the story. Defensively, Alabama will give Kevin Steele a shutout in his first game back on the coaching staff. MTSU will run the air raid offense, so this is a good test for the secondary to play disciplined.”

Key Insight: “We will get close to answers for multiple questions surrounding this Alabama team in this matchup. Jalen Milroe has built some momentum in Alabama’s QB race over the last few weeks. He was rewarded with the starting job for this one as a result. However, the Crimson Tide’s QB1 battle is not over. The Texas native needs a good performance to get closer to that distinction. Look for Milroe to have Alabama’s offense catered to his strengths. Alabama’s defense should be able to show off its depth and versatility in game one.

Key Insight: “The 2023 season is finally here and although it’s far from the flashiest matchup, Alabama still has a lot to figure out against Middle Tennessee. Whether it’s Jalen Milroe, Tyler Buchner, Ty Simpson or Dylan Lonergan at quarterback, one of the four will need to try and win the team over against the Blue Raiders. Regardless of who steps up the Crimson Tide should roll to a Week 1 victory with ease.”
