Penalties continue to be a thorn in Alabama’s side.
Nick Saban saw it as an issue in 2022, and the Crimson Tide has made mental errors this season.

Several penalties led to a week two loss against Texas and was a problem versus Texas A&M. Alabama committed 14 penalties — including many before an offensive snap — inside Kyle Field at College Station, Texas. The Tide earned a 26-20 victory to seize control of the SEC West; however, Saban named penalties as something that needs to be fixed. Alabama’s offensive line had numerous false starts, including three on one drive. Coach Saban has the team work on crowd noise in practice, but sophomore quarterback Jalen Milroe explained to reporters how he plans to help the Tide’s offensive front eliminate the mental errors.
“I need to do a better of being loud and more vocal on my cadence,” Milroe said Monday.
“I need to allow the guys to know what cadence we are on and be effective with my cadence. I take full ownership of that and moving forward, I will get together with the guys to make sure everyone is on the same page before the ball is snapped.”

Milroe had the best game of his career against Texas A&M, which included career-highs in completions (21) and passing yards (321). He totaled three touchdown passes in a 26-20 victory for Alabama, but Milroe wants to see all problems alleviated.
Alabama returns to Bryant-Denny Stadium for homecoming Saturday versus Arkansas.
Hopefully, we see a good week of practice with Milroe having the offensive line on the same page.
