The Detroit Lions face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, but it will be without several players.
Two alums from Alabama football are out because of injuries. Brian Branch (defensive back) is down with an ankle and Jahmyr Gibbs (running back) has a hamstring injury. Gibbs was a first-round selection, while Branch got picked up in the second round.

Branch is having a good rookie campaign for the 4-1 Lions.

He is fourth on the team for total tackles (25) and has three tackles for loss, four pass breakups, and an interception returned for a touchdown. Branch, a native Georgian, has shown the Lions he’s a first-round value that fell to them. Gibbs has not had much work in his rookie season. He totals 179 yards rushing and 70 yards receiving. Dan Campbell, head coach of the Lions, uses Gibbs everywhere on the field in different positions. He played a huge role in helping the Crimson Tide make the Sugar Bowl in 2022.
Tide fans want Branch and Gibbs to have smooth recoveries.
