It has consistently been one of the most intense rivalries in college football since Nick Saban came to Alabama in 2007.
Fans of Louisiana State University still burn with frustration that Coach Saban left after five seasons. He guided the Tigers to a BCS National Championship in 2003; however, Saban has had more success with the Crimson Tide. The matchup between Alabama and LSU holds significance for conference championships, national championships, and recruiting wars.

Brian Kelly defeated Saban in 2022, earning his first win over the seven-time national champion. Kelly took the Tigers to the Southeastern Conference Championship Game, but he wants his second win over Alabama. The game returns to Bryant-Denny Stadium and CBS will have Saturday’s contest. ESPN’s College Football GameDay will be in attendance as the winner will represent the West in Atlanta for a conference title opportunity. A College Football Playoff shot is on the line as well.
LSU’s offense averages 47.4 points per game.
