Why 2024 LB Quinton Reese feels Alabama is best place for him

Quinton Reese

Ramsay High School wrapped up its regular football season last Friday against Carver-Birmingham, and Alabama linebacker commit, Quinton “QB” Reese was flying around in the win, per usual.

Reese is a 2024 linebacker, who committed to the Crimson Tide in September after earning an offer in August.

The Ramsay product said he chose the Tide because he felt they had his best interest in mind.

“It was just like the family vibe I get around there and then they not only care about you as a football player, but they also care about you as a person. I feel like that stands out the most to me,” Reese told Touchdown Alabama.

The opportunity to play under Nick Saban also played a role in Reese’s decision to commit to Alabama.

“It’s a great opportunity,” said Reese. “Who wouldn’t want to play for the GOAT?  I feel like that’s the best opportunity for me to get to the next level and do what I got to do to be the best player I can.”

The Alabama commit finished the regular season with 132 tackles and three sacks. The Rams will kick off their push for back-to-back state championships when then Class 5A Playoff starts next week. Reese has big goals for him and his teammate this postseason.

“I want to be the best leader I can to help my teammates to better themselves as players and people,” Reese said. “I just also want to, as an individual goal, lead the state in tackles when everything is said and done.”

Reese is on pace to have a very impressive total-tackle count by the time his senior season officially comes to an end. This is in large part due to the effort he plays with. On a typical Friday night, the Ramsay product can be seen making players all over the field as he plays sideline-to-sideline.

The effort Reese plays with is something his father, Quinton Reese, who played for Auburn, instilled in him at a young age.

“As a young kid, my dad always told me and my brother to always go 100 percent in everything you do,” said Reese. “That’s what I do. Even in practice, I’m going 100 percent in everything. I’m trying to get myself better and my teammates better as well.”

Reese’s main goal at the moment is being the best player he can be for Ramsay. However, he does know at the back of his mind what it is going to take to make an impact in Tuscaloosa in the future.

“I’m ready to go there and make an impact on the team and help the team in any way I can,” said Reese.
