He reached 500 points, despite missing two field goals, in a 42-28 victory for the Crimson Tide. Reichard, a native of Hoover, Ala., came in Alabama’s 2019 recruiting class as a three-star. He has turned in an incredible career, but Reichard has a chance to give the program something it has never had before. He is a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award, which goes to the nation’s top placekicker in college football. No one from the Tide has earned the honor since it was first awarded in 1992 by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission. Reichard could have declared for the NFL Draft after last season, yet he decided to return to school.

His decision has the Tide in a position to win a Southeastern Conference Championship and possibly make the College Football Playoff. Reichard is perfect on extra points (31 for 31) and has made 15 of 17 field goal attempts in nine games.
He takes on Kentucky in Lexington (Ky.) this weekend.
