Alabama fans cheered for names such as Will Reichard, Malachi Moore, Jase McClellan, and Roydell Williams on senior day versus Chattanooga at Bryant-Denny Stadium, but a defensive back had the best outing of his career.
Kristian Story, a former four-star recruit in the 2020 class, got the start at free safety for a second straight week — replacing an injured Jaylen Key. Story, a native of Lanett, Ala., has experience in the system, but he is now able to showcase his playmaking abilities on the field. He showed up a lot against the Mocs, including one play where he recorded his first career interception.

It gave Alabama’s defense its tenth interception of the year and boosted Story’s confidence.
He was on the 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship team and has two Southeastern Conference Championship rings. His moment in a 66-10 victory for Alabama showed him he can create marquee plays when the defense needs it. He enjoyed holding the “Ball Out” turnover belt for the first time in his tenure. Story finished the day with two tackles, a pass breakup, and an interception. He has a chance to go into the Iron Bowl versus Auburn and create another memory at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
