Alabama QB Jalen Milroe shares SEC Offensive Player of the Week after Iron Bowl performance

He became the latest legend for the University of Alabama in the Iron Bowl rivalry.

Jalen Milroe gave Crimson Tide fans another iconic memory to its folklore with “4th and 31” in his game-winning scoring toss to wide receiver Isaiah Bond. Alabama was down 24-20 in the fourth quarter when Milroe connected with Bond. The play stunned Auburn fans at Jordan-Hare Stadium, as the Tide earned a 27-24 victory. Milroe sealed the victory for Alabama with 32 seconds remaining in regulation. He finished the game with 259 passing yards (16-of-24 passes completed), 107 rushing yards (18 carries), and two touchdowns. The sophomore shared SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors with Missouri’s Cody Schrader.

Milroe finished the regular season with 2,526 passing yards (66.4 percent completion rating), 21 touchdown passes, 12 rushing touchdowns, and six interceptions. He has 34 total touchdowns, moving him to eighth all-time in school history in scores accounted for during a single season. Milroe’s single-season passing yards are 10th all-time in school history for Alabama.

He takes on Georgia in the SEC Championship Game this weekend.
