The redshirt sophomore is playing like the best cornerback in college football. He could return to school for another season, but the native Floridian has played himself into a potential first-round NFL Draft stock. Arnold turned in a stellar performance in Saturday’s Iron Bowl versus Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Alabama’s run defense was awful, but Arnold shut down its wide receivers in the passing game. The 6-foot, 196-pounder recorded two interceptions, including a game-sealing pick on the Tigers’ final drive of regulation. According to Pro Football Focus, Arnold’s stat line against Auburn is nothing short of sensational.

He was targeted only three times in 23 coverage snaps. Arnold did not allow a reception or a passer rating against him.

His two interceptions gave a team-leading five this season. He joins former Alabama defensive backs Mark Barron (2009), Robert Lester (2010), Eddie Jackson (2015), and Minkah Fitzpatrick (2016) to have at least five picks in a regular season.

Arnold has a chance to put on a show against Georgia, but he’s thankful to emerge victorious in the Iron Bowl.
