He positioned Deontae Lawson to finish second on the team for total tackles (67) and had 5.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, four pass breakups, and four quarterback hurries. Jihaad Campbell blossomed under Bala with 66 tackles, four tackles for loss, three pass breakups, three quarterback hurries, an interception, and fumble returned for a touchdown. Trezmen Marshall, a transfer from Georgia, and Kendrick Blackshire (transferred to Texas) also excelled under Bala.

He announced on social media that he’s moving on from the Crimson Tide. Bala is thankful for the opportunity to have worked under Saban, but he is moving forward.

Bala helped the 2023 Alabama team to a Southeastern Conference Championship and College Football Playoff.
