Kane Wommack, a former head coach at South Alabama, is excited to reunite with his good friend, Kalen DeBoer, at the University of Alabama to continue to success of Crimson Tide football.

Wommack, 36, is coming as a defensive coordinator, but is DeBoer adding another Jaguars coach to his staff?

Football Scoop, the premier source for coaching job information, reported Wednesday that Matt Shadeed is following Wommack from South Alabama to Tuscaloosa (Ala.). Shadeed served as the director of strength and conditioning for the Jaguars. He, like Wommack, has deep ties to the Southeastern Conference. Shadeed started his coaching career as a strength and conditioning intern at Louisiana State University (LSU) in 2009. He returned to the SEC in 2012 as Ole Miss’ strength and conditioning coach for two seasons (2012-13). Shadeed earned his bachelor’s degree in the south at Southern Mississippi in 2009 in exercise science.

DeBoer is putting together coaches on this staff that can recruit the south and develop players.

He is making all the right moves since getting hired.
