Alabama football’s head coach Kalen DeBoer feels the Crimson Tide’s offensive skill guys are looking forward to the opportunities they will receive in the future.
DeBoer and Alabama’s new offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb orchestrated one of the best offensive attacks in college football last season at Washington. Not only did the Huskies have two 1,000-yard wide receivers, but their starting running back Dillon Johnson also led the Pac-12 in rushing with 1,195 yards.
Pat McAfee had DeBoer as a guest on his show Wednesday, and the new Alabama head coach discussed the optimism he feels is coming from Alabama’s offensive skill player.
“That’s certainly a big piece of these guys here in the program understanding what we’ve been, and we were on national TV a lot, enough for them to see what we were doing and be excited about their roles,” DeBoer said. “You talked about Jalen (Milroe), you talked about the receiving core and these guys are fired up about getting those opportunities within this offense. Dillon Johnson was the leading rusher in the Pac-12 and so all the skill guys, they’re fired up and ready to learn the system and continue to grow.”
DeBoer and the rest of the Alabama staff are currently working the recruiting trail.
