He played quarterback at Ohio State University, but does C.J. Stroud get a pass to be in the Alabama fan club?

Stroud defended former Alabama quarterback Bryce Young despite a rough rookie season for the Carolina Panthers, but he had Crimson Tide fans jumping after taking a shot at Auburn in a podcast with Cam Newton. Newton, an Auburn University alumnus and 2010 Heisman Trophy winner, is a free agent in the National Football League. He believes the Tigers will take down Alabama next season because Nick Saban is no longer the head coach.

Stroud proceeds to flame Newton in saying ‘Auburn sucks’ and ‘Alabama owns that.’

“I ain’t worried about you, Auburn sucks,” Stroud said to Newton after he talked about Ohio State. “Bama owns that.”

Stroud came on Newton’s podcast and gave him the business.

He did not play for the Crimson Tide, but Alabama fans are willing to welcome Stroud into the family.
