Mac Jones is officially with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a backup quarterback.
New England made the trade with Jacksonville to start over at the quarterback position. Jones, a Jacksonville (Fla.) native, is excited to be back at home. He will serve as the backup to Trevor Lawrence in the AFC South after three seasons in the AFC East with the Patriots. Jones, the No. 15 overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, started one season at quarterback for Alabama.

He guided the Crimson Tide to a 2020 CFP National Championship, totaling 4,500 passing yards and 41 touchdowns.
Jones set a single-season school record for passing yards at the time, earning recognition as an All-American and Heisman finalist.
