Alabama 5-star freshman WR has been a problem for Crimson Tide defense in spring practice

The wide receiver room for Alabama football will return to full strength when Jalen Hale returns, but spring practice has been entertaining at that position.

Kobe Prentice is rising as the No. 1 name in the room, but Kendrick Law, Emmanuel Henderson, and Germie Bernard have all performed well. Caleb Odom, a five-star freshman, continues to be the one coaches and players cannot keep their eyes off of.

The native Georgian is making it look easy at 6-foot-5 — executing routes, possessing good speed, and catching passes.

Jahlil Hurley, a redshirt freshman cornerback, has defended Law, Henderson, and Bernard in practice, but he stated Wednesday that Odom gives the secondary problems with his size. JaMarcus Shephard has a weapon that he will use all season in the fall.

“I ain’t gonna lie, Caleb Odom, he can play,” Hurley said. “He can play.”

Hurley is impressed with everyone in the receiver room, but Odom can be a real baller in this offense.

He is a matchup problem with his size, but his ability to move despite his size is exceptional. Alabama fans will be able to see Odom in action in the spring game on Saturday, April 13 at 3 p.m. inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.
