4-Star DL Jarquez Carter feels Alabama is a top team for him after visit

Alabama football hosted 2025 defensive lineman, Jarquez Carter last week, and he walked away with a good feeling about the Crimson Tide.

Carter is a product of Newberry High School in Florida, and he holds a four-star rating from multiple recruiting sites. He holds more than 35 college football offers, including offers from Florida State, Georgia, Ohio State and others.

The Florida product’s visit allowed him to catch up with Kalen DeBoer.

“I think he is a great coach,” Carter told Touchdown Alabama. “He is a coach that has that winning mentality. Everywhere he goes, the team becomes more successful. He just knows how to win, and he is a great coach to talk to. He has a lot of wisdom. He was telling me the guys that stuck around, he is giving them his 100 percent every day, and they know he is. They are giving their all back to him. That shows their team is going where they need to be.”

Carter also spent some time around the Tide’s defensive line coach Freddie Roach during his visit. Roach’s coaching style is one Carter appreciates.

“He brings a lot of energy,” Carter said. “He makes playing the game more fun. He is not the type of coach to yell at a player for no reason. He actually loves the game. Before they even do drills, he explains the drill and explains the importance of doing the drill.”

Alabama will look to get Carter back on campus in the future.

The four-star feels his first two steps and the way he uses his hands are his strengths at the moment. He is one of the more explosive defensive lineman prospects in the 2025 recruiting class.
