Alabama football has its second alum taken off the board in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Dallas Turner is headed to the NFC North as the Minnesota Vikings selected him at No. 17 overall on Thursday night.
Turner, a South Florida native, follows behind Will Anderson as a top-10 draft pick. He came as a five-star in the 2021 class to the Crimson Tide and made an impact as a freshman. Turner led the Tide in tackles for loss (14.5), sacks (10), and quarterback hurries (13) in 2023. He pushed Alabama to a Southeastern Conference Championship and a College Football Playoff berth.
Turner earned Consensus All-American honors and Co-SEC Defensive Player of the Year honor for his efforts.
He was a two-time SEC Champion at Alabama (2021, 2023), but now he takes talents to the Vikings.
Minnesota has a sacks specialist in Turner.
