Alabama coaches visit former 4-Star Edge commit

Javion Hilson received a visit from Alabama football’s defensive coordinator Kane Wommack and the Tide’s defensive line coach Freddie Roach on Tuesday.

Hilson is a 2025 four-star prospect of Cocoa High School in Florida, and he is one of the top edge prospects in the 2025 recruiting class. The Florida product is a former Alabama commit, who is currently committed to Florida State. The Crimson Tide appear to now be fully back in the mix for Hilson with their new staff making a push for him.

At 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, Hilson has an explosive first step off the edge. His athleticism allows him to effectively defend in space as he gets after the football with impressive backside pursuit. His length gives him a wide tackle radius as he can stretch out and close space to make a tackle.
