Alex Leatherwood looks to show he was not a bust of a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the former Unanimous All-American, two-time first-team All-SEC, Jacobs Blocking Trophy winner, Outland Trophy winner, and two-time College Football Playoff National Champion (2017, 2020) has signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers. Leatherwood played with the Las Vegas Raiders (2021-22), Chicago Bears (2022-23), and had a practice squad stint with the Cleveland Browns in 2023 before this chance with the Chargers.

Leatherwood came to Alabama as a five-star from Florida in the 2017 recruiting class. He started his career getting action at right guard and left tackle in his career, helping the Crimson Tide’s offensive line capture the Joe Moore Award in 2020.

Leatherwood assisted the 2017 class to be the most accomplished of the Nick Saban era.

He now looks to perform well with the Chargers.
