Bryce Young making ‘wow’ throws ahead of year 2

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young rolls out of the pocket

There has been a lot of talk about Bryce Young’s expectations for year two this offseason.

The chatter comes after the former first-overall pick had an underwhelming rookie campaign, completing less than 60 percent of his passes and finishing with 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 16 games with not a lot of help surrounding him..

It is clear the Carolina Panthers and Young are ready for a fresh start in 2024 after a summer full of roster reshuffling to improve the offensive line and firepower.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler spoke about Young’s offseason progression under the Panthers’ new coaching regime recently on Sportscenter.

“You see Dave Canales there, the first-year head coach for Carolina, working with Bryce Young, trying to get the best out of him after a struggling rookie year,” Fowler said. “I’m told that he made two-to-three ‘wow’ throws every day, though, play-action looked good, was football mature, took the checkdown when he needed.”

Veteran wide receiver Adam Thielen has revealed the comfort level of young has grown before his eyes.

“You can tell Bryce’s demeanor in the building, he’s just more comfortable,” Theilen said.
