Alabama telling state’s No. 1 running back to come be a ‘legend’ in Tuscaloosa

Alabama football is going all in on Ezavier Crowell, and the feeling appears to be mutual.

Crowell is now a four-star running back prospect out of Jackson High School in Alabama. He is a member of the 2026 recruiting class after re-classifying from the 2027 class earlier this month.

Most sites considered him a five-star before he re-classified. He has a strong chance to earn back his original rating in the future.

Alabama is one of the teams, who look to be in a good position with Crowell.

“It was great getting back to Tuscaloosa,” Crowell told Touchdown Alabama while discussing his Saturday return visit.

Alabama has hosted Crowell probably more than any other program at this point in his recruitment. Their message to him has been a consistent one as he feels they view him as a ‘great’ running back.

“Their messages is always be the standard and come be a legend at Bama,” Crowell said.

Alabama’s staff has managed to build a good relationship with Crowell since taking over in Tuscaloosa under Kalen DeBoer.

“I have a great relationship with the staff,” Crowell recently told Touchdown Alabama. “The coaching staff is great.”

Crowell plans to officially visit Alabama in June. He does not have a commitment timeframe in mind with multiple official visits scheduled for the summer. He is looking for a programmer can grow as a ‘football player and person.’

The Jackson product helped the Aggies win a state championship with his dynamic playing style during the 2024 season. The 5-foot-11, 215-pounder is a physical runner, who runs through arm tackles with proven speed as he holds a PR of 10.6 in the 100-meter dash.
