Xavier Griffin has confirmed he has backed off his verbal commitment to the USC Trojans.
Griffin is a 2026 five-star recruit, who attends Gainesville High School in Georgia. He is native of Alabama, growing up in Huntsville.
The Alabama native has consistently shared he feels like a top target to the Crimson Tide.
Alabama is recruiting the five-star to play WOLF linebacker under Christian Robinson. The position calls for the linebacker to be effective at getting to the quarterback while rushing from the edge, play sideline to sideline and drop back and coverage to defend the pass in certain situations. These are all strong parts of Griffin’s game.
