The Alabama vs. Florida State season-opening matchup is starting to generate some buzz.
The Crimson Tide travel to Tallahassee to take on the Seminoles on the road on Aug. 30. Both teams are coming off of seasons where they did not meet expectations.
Norvell recently shared his players are excited about the challenge of facing Alabama at home to kick off the season.
“That’s just one of those games,” Norvell said, according to News4Jax in Jacksonville, Florida. “That’s why you come to Florida State. It’s going to be nationally televised. It’s going to be so much energy. But the thing I’m excited just for our fan base, just to be able to be back in a full-capacity Doak Campbell Stadium. All the new renovations, they’ve done a wonderful job in that. I know our players are excited to run out of the tunnel there on August 30th. It’s all eyes on us, and it’s what it needs to be, and we’re excited for it.”
Alabama football’s head coach shared some of his early thoughts on the matchup on last month.
“I know that they got a lot of change, defense, offensive coordinators,” DeBoer said. “Guys who are veterans that understand the game on a high level. We’ll dive into that this summer and figure out exactly how we want to approach that going into week one. That’s going to be a big one. We got to be on the road. We got to be better on the road than we were a year ago. So, that’s another piece to it, and that’s getting focusing on ourselves. But a lot of new players coming into their program and we’ll have to weigh all that and kind of sort through that as a coaching staff and then pass that on to our guys when it’s appropriate time.”
