Kalen DeBoer feels Alabama football has to prevent itself from being in a bad position late in games in 2025.
The Crimson Tide lost four games in their first year under DeBoer. They trailed heading into the fourth quarter of all four games. DeBoer shared he feels Alabama needs to do a better job of preventing the moments that led to them trailing late in games.
“We just got to be better in the big moments,” DeBoer said on “Next Round Live.” “We got to find ways to come from behind in those games, where we were maybe down in the fourth quarter. We found ways to get over the hump (when) games got a little close, and we found ways to win when we had the lead. But we got to be better in the critical moments. And so that’s something, and it’s not just go execute that play. It’s what led to that moment and or moments. And we just got to be better and really do the things at the beginning of the game that keep you from being in the spot where you’re playing from behind at the end.”
A 27-25 win over South Carolina was the only victory Alabama secured after trailing ahead of the fourth quarter during the 2024 season. Alabama fared better in matchups where they led heading into the fourth quarter in 2024 by going undefeated in those games.
Summer workouts are set to kick off in Tuscaloosa soon as the Tide will welcome its players back to campus. Alabama will look to put in the work necessary to prevent itself from trailing late in 2025.
