Ja’Bios Smith reported an offer from Alabama football on Tuesday.
Smith is a product of Swainsboro High School in Georgia, and he garners a four-star rating from multiple recruiting sites. The 2027 recruit’s offer list now includes 13 college football programs, including Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Michigan and others,
The four-star is happy to hold an offer from Alabama after being evaluated by the Crimson Tide’s coaching staff for quite some time.
“This offer means a lot to me,” Smith told Touchdown Alabama. “Alabama has actually been recruiting me as if I was a top priority for a while, but they are very detailed in their process, and for them to feel like I’m a fit, is an honor.”
Alabama football’s outside linebacker coach Christian Robinson has been building a relationship with the junior alongside the Tide’s linebackers coach, Chuck Morrell, who has begun to do so.
“Everybody knows what kind of linebackers Alabama produces, and I’m blessed to be thought of as that type of player,” said Smith. “I’ve been talking to Coach Robinson for a while now, and I’m starting to build a relationship with Coach Morrell as well. I’m looking forward to returning to Tuscaloosa in the near future and getting a good feel for the rest of the staff and the campus.”
The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder shines as an off-the-ball linebacker for Swainsboro who shines when he is playing sideline to sideline, sifting through traffic and taking good angles in pursuit of the football.
