Alabama football head coach Kalen DeBoer appeared to defend Alabama not making the College Football Playoff in his second season when he spoke at the SEC Spring Meetings in Destin, Florida.
The Crimson Tide did not make the inaugural 12-team playoff after going 9-3 in Alabama’s first regular season under DeBoer. The veteran head coach provided an interesting statement when discussing the Tide missing the playoff.
“You kind of wonder what would have happened if other people would have had the chance to play our schedule last year,” DeBoer said.
DeBoer also had a question for the playoff committee.
“How do you understand the strength of schedule from conference to conference?” DeBoer asked.
There will be some big decisions and changes that will need to be made over the course of time. For now, DeBoer seems focused on the task ahead of him.
“I’m just going to play the games that we can schedule and adjust accordingly as we change the SEC games if that’s the case,” DeBoer said.
