The 6-foot-6 freshman tight end is a former four-star out of Oak Ridge High School in California.
The Crimson Tide picked up a signature from him in December of 2024, but he did not enroll early. He officially enrolled over the summer and experienced his first-ever fall camp practice on last week.
Media members were able to get a good look at Edwards on Tuesday during the Crimson Tide’s practice and were able to see what Kalen DeBoer described the freshman as.
“Kaleb is a big target, does a nice job, very savvy, instinctual,” DeBoer recently told reporters. “Got some of the dual-sport in him, feels comfortable out in space.”
Edwards is not expected to have a major role on offense for Alabama in 2025 with Danny Lewis and Josh Cuevas expected to be the Tide’s starting tight end duo, but Edwards is showing signs of a promising future.
