Nick Saban knows better than anyone Alabama football must take away the effectiveness of Georgia’s powerful rushing attack if the Tide want to pull off an upset over the Bulldogs in Athens tonight.

This task was something Alabama struggled with earlier in the season when Florida State’s rushing attack was able to maul the Tide defense and put up over 230 yards and three touchdowns.

Saban highlighted why this must change against Georgia on ESPN’s College Gameday.

“I think the big difference for Alabama is Ty Simpson is playing with confidence,” Saban said. “But, I think one of the most important things playing against Georgia is you’ve got to be able to establish the run so that you have balance on offense, you can’t let them tee off, they can’t get you in third-and-long. This is going to be one of the most challenging things because Georgia is so good and prides themselves on stopping the run.”

Alabama football will kick off against Georgia from Sanford Stadium at 6:30 p.m. CST on ABC.
