Alabama football is ranked No. 4 in the first official College Football Playoff Rankings of the football season.
The Crimson Tide is 7-1 after winning seven straight games. Alabama is currently projected to receive a bye in the second-ever 12-team College Football Playoff. They would play the winner of No. 12 Memphis and No. 5 Georgia in a bowl game if these projections were to hold true.
Alabama has a strong resume with wins over four teams ranked in the initial College Football Playoff rankings with wins over Tennessee, Missouri, Vanderbilt and Georgia. The Tide also have one ranked team remaining on the schedule in No. 12 Oklahoma.
Both Alabama and LSU are coming off of bye weeks. The two programs will get after one another Saturday on Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CST.
