Alabama football’s defensive coordinator Kane Wommack may still be in play for the Arkansas job after reports surfaced Alex Golesh has not accepted the Razorbacks’ head coaching job yet.

Golesh is currently the head football coach at South Florida. Trey Schaap of 103.7 The Buzz in Arkansas was the first to report Golesh had accepted the head coaching job for the Razorbacks.

After this report, multiple outlets began to report Golesh had not officially accepted the head coaching job including Brett McMurphy of ON3.

“USF’s Alex Golesh has not accepted any offers to leave as of now. Will that change?” McMurphy posted to X.

USF’s CEO of athletics Rob Higgins responded to the report with a statement.

“Since Saturday’s game, Coach Golesh has been presented with outside opportunities that he has been transparent about with us,” the statement read. “We are respectful and supportive of Coach and his family in their decision-making process. We’ll remain in constant communication.”

Wommack was asked about being linked to the job on Monday.

“I appreciate the question, but I’m just not going to address any job opportunity stuff,” Wommack said
