Alabama is expected to hire Derrick Nix as its next wide receiver coach, according to CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.
Nix was the Auburn Tigers’ offensive coordinator the last two seasons. The Alabama native began his coaching career at Southern Miss after playing for the Golden Eagles. He then moved on to coach at Ole Miss before becoming the Tigers’ offensive coordinator.
The former collegiate running back has previously served as a running back coach, wide receiver coach and offensive coordinator.
Alabama had an opening at the position following JaMarcus Shephard’s decision to become the next head coach at Oregon State.
