NFL Hall of Famer slams Alabama OC for use of Lotzier Brooks in Rose Bowl

NFL Hall of Famer and Alabama native, Terrell Owens was puzzled by Alabama football’s use of Lotzeir Brooks in the Rose Bowl.

The true freshman had a breakout performance against the Oklahoma Sooners in the first round of the College Football Playoff. He pulled in five receptions for 79 yards and two touchdowns in the Tide’s first-round win.

Brooks was a non-factor a week later in the Rose Bowl. He was only targeted once, and his best play of the game came as a gunner on punt team when he made a tackle. This prompted a response from Owens. The response was aimed at Alabama’s offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb.

“I swear the Alabama OC has to be crazy not involve #17 into the game plan after last week’s game. Makes no sense,” Owens posted to X.

Alabama went on to lose to Indiana 38-3. The Tide’s offense finished the game with 193 total yards.
