Alabama football’s wide receiver, Ryan Williams did not play at the level many expected him to play at during the 2025 season.

Williams got his college career off to a running start with the Crimson Tide as a true freshman in 2024 He finished his freshman campaign with 865 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns, while averaging 18 yards per reception. He had a pair of 100-yard games in his first season.

However, year two did not come with a major uptick in production from Williams. He did have one more reception than he did in 2024, but he had fewer receiving yards and fewer touchdowns, with 689 yards and four touchdowns. The Alabama native also struggled to catch the football on a consistent basis at times.

Williams now looks to be taking the adversity he faced in 2025 in stride, according to his latest post to Instagram.

“Adversity will come,” Williams posted. “It’s not if, it’s when and when that time comes, how will you respond? Thank you JESUS 🙌🏽 for allowing me to face these challenges that will continue to grow me and mold me into the father, husband, teammate that I one day want to be. Thank you to my family for always being in my corner and being the people I depend on when times are the hardest. Lastly, thank you to all of my fans for supporting me through ups and downs and if you not on this side stay there.”

Williams returns to Alabama for the 2026 football season with high expectations surrounding him once again.
